1970's and 80's : BUSKERS IN TORONTO.  Busking in Toronto has been a long, colourful and sometime controversial tradition.

 

Pictured are a few of our long time and better known Buskers.

2: Billy James, started busking in front of Sam's in the 70's and later for commuters in the subway.

 

 

3: Ben Kerr, A reedy elder sporting a ragged Blue Jays hat and weather-beaten guitar  had a favoured spot outside the Bay at Yonge and Bloor.

 

 

4) Washboard Hank and Reverend Ken from Peterborough are a hit with folks outside the Eaton Centre.
