바람이 만들어낸 인간사슬. 바람에 날려가지 않게 사람들이 손을 서로 붙잡다. 1978년 토론토 바람이 세게 불던 날.

버스 정류장은 그 때나 지금이나 똑같은 그림이다. 토론토 중심가 킹 앤 베이. 버스 정류장 기둥을 사람들이 잡고 인간사슬을 만들었다. 자연의 힘이 셀 때, 사람들은 사람들끼리 힘을 모으고 연대한다.

사람은 여전히 자연의 일부이고, 연약하다.

I remember that they issued a "small person warning" (yes, apparently it's a real thing)! 😅 Anyone who weighed under 100 lbs was advised to stay indoors.

Very memorable. I was working on the 34th floor of the Royal Trust Tower in the TD Centre. You could feel the building swinging and swaying, but I remembered that that was a good thing from an engineering perspective. We walked down the 34 floors and I remember seeing ropes running from the exit doors across the plaza open area down to King street. People used the ropes to walk and stand upright. Computer paper was blowing all over the place.

Driving home to Mississauga, I took the Lakeshore and was astounded by the waves rolling in from the lake. The Boulevard Club took a tremendous beating. I remember downed power lines in several places on my drive home. A day to remember!

I remember that storm I was in highschool and 10 minutes after the bell rang the PA told everyone to go home all the windows in the skyscrapers downtown were blowing out and smashing on Bay St. and King St

I worked on the 44th Floor of the Royal Trust Tower at the TD Centre. Our building was moving in the wind and we could see the CN Tower swaying.

We were evacuated at around 3:00PM, down 44 floors by the stairs. All the doors to the plaza outside were blocked, we watched security go out and rescue a woman who had been knocked down by the wind and couldn't get up. Most of the huge windows of the TD Bank branch at King and Bay were blown out. The TD Bank data centre had multiple windows blown out, computer printer paper all over.

I remember that day. I was walking on Simcoe when the wind picked me up off my feet. I wasn’t hurt but it was scary.
