1849년 미국 흑인 노예 헨리 브라운, 버지니아에서 필라델피아로 피신. 박스에 숨어서 간 사연. 자유를 찾아서 버지니아 주를 탈출해, 흑인 노예폐지 지역인 필라델피아로 향했다. 60 cm 화물 박스에 몸을 숨겼다고 한다. 

 

 

In 1849, to escape 33 years of his life as a slave, Henry "Box" Brown shipped himself in a cargo box from Richmond, Virginia, to the abolitionist zone in Philadelphia.

 

Henry Brown completed the 350-mile journey, barely breathing through the air holes he pierced in his 60-centimeter-wide cargo box, and spent the remaining 50 years of his life as a free person.
