Meine dialektische Methode ist der Grundlage nach von der Hegelschen nicht nur verschieden, sondern ihr direktes Gegenteil. Für Hegel ist der Denkprozeß, den er sogar unter dem Namen Idee in ein selbständiges Subjekt verwandelt, der Demiurg des Wirklichen, das nur seine äußere Erscheinung bildet. Bei mir ist umgekehrt das Ideelle nichts andres als das im Menschenkopf umgesetzte und übersetzte Materielle. (MEW 23 Das Kapital, p.27)
My dialectical method is, according to its foundation, not only different from Hegel’s, but also directly opposite to it. For Hegel, the process of thinking, which he even transforms into an independent subject, under the name of ‘the Idea’, is the demiurge of the real world, and the real world forms only the external appearance of the demiurge. For me, to the contrary, ‘the Idea’ is nothing but the material thing transformed and translated in the human brain.
나의 변증법적 방법론은 그 토대를 고려해봤을 때 헤겔의 것과 다를 뿐만 아니라 정반대이다. 헤겔의 변증법적 방법론에서는, 그가 '이념'이라는 이름 하에, '자립적인 주체'로 탈바꿈시킨 ‘생각하는 과정‘이 현실의 창조자이다. 헤겔에게서는 현실이란 그 창조자의 모습을 바깥 세계로 드러내는 것에 지나지 않는다. 나에게는 이와는 반대로 이념이란 다름아니라 우리 머리 속에서 변형되고 번역된 물질적인 것이다.
